Clowning Around at Media Studies TEP

I love visiting Abah's Media Studies TEP Center cos those groovy students of his will always feed me! Glicko Pockys, gums, chocolates, you name it! I was there the other day and one of them called Anju started clicking on her very expensive-looking camera (turns out it wasn't hers). Anyway, very nice shots here. Thanks everyone!!

Aussie Holiday

These pictures are long overdue. So here they are - cos you know me, anticipation for precipitation. Stacked chips for a rainy day.

First one here at Dream World - I couldn't strike a better pose in my Superman shirt, right in front of the Escape ride too.Abah went on it - he said it was totally, absolutely sick and awesome. We spent a whole day there - I loved the Speedy Gonzalez ride!

These are my Aussie cousins - the last time I saw them I was just a year old. There's Abang Imran, Kakak Nadya and Aisha. Bibik Mob and Uncle Les were also there - we spent the whole day at SeaWorld where we stuffed on the buffet. Abah and Mama reckoned they gained like 100kg from the trip. Not a big deal only if Abah didn't have the Adidas Night Marathon to tackle a few weeks after we came back. Oh, but he completed it anyway.

It's Really Been A While

Abah's been really busy all of last year to update this blog. The man took part in one full-marathon, one half-marathon, one biathlon, two triathlons and a couple of 10K runs in 2007. So I'll just put up some pics of what I've done and the places we've been for all to enjoy in the next few posts. This one was from March 2007 - Bali.

Peaceout.

It's Been A While

Yes, it's been a while. Abah's been slacking quite a bit, so that's why the last entry was August last year. A lot of things have happened since. I turned two, made my first tip to Bali, Atok passed on, I started going to day-care, Abah ran his first marathon .... As such, I will post pictures from all those momentous events. Soon. Really soon. By the way, this is me in Malacca. My first trip to Malacca. Abah said it'll probably be my last too, with them. Peace Out.

Motorbike Riding

Every weekend, my folks and I visit Nyai and Yai, my paternal gramps over in Clementi. There are lotsa food and snack there, and when they feel generous - which is almost always - Nyai and Yai would have some new toy waiting for me. Much to the frustration of Abah and Mama. my folks can't stop them from buying, so they've resigned to just telling that the toys must not be more than $5. Abah reckons he didn't get a lot of toys when he was younger cos they were saving up for toys for their GRANDSON.

Another thing I love ( though I've done it only one grand time) is Yai's motorbike. I've gotten a ride on it and it's super! Yai had given up riding, he's 77 this year, but Bibik Oya's hubby gave his up cos they had gotten a van - so Yai's got a new bike! Check out my World War II German soldier helmet!

Wednesday Nights

About the only thing that my Abah is good at doing - certainly not updating this blog - is taking me to the library every Wednesday night. I usually stay at home on Wednesdays with Bibik, and when Abah and Mama get home from work, they usually just grab a quick bite. Then off we go and walk for, oh, maybe ten minutes at most, to the Jurong West Library. I just love it there. They've got fancy teeny chairs and tables and of course, lotsa books.

I can sit there all night cos they've got books on monkeys and tigers and tractors and all. Abah says on his off days, he can sit in a library all day too, enjoying the books and magazines. We found this book on Big Yella Trucks & Diggers the other night and it's really sweet with all the pictures of Scoop, and Rolley and Lofty and all. There's also this very huge poster on the wall with cows and other animals. And that's really nice too, that's why Abah's included the pic with me in the foreground.

I love Wednesday nights ;-)

New Haircut

Lost amidst stories of falling ill and high fever and us rushing to NUH at 4 am, and me turning red and spotty, is the fact that I got a haircut last week! The barber man was nice enough not to freak me out with a noisy, scary-looking razor like the other barber man I visited previously. This nice barber man, started out with a small pair of scissors first - took some parts from the left, and to the right and then cleaned it all up with a nice, small, and definitely non-threatening razor. It helped that he had this huge fish that I was distracted with swimming around the tank near me. Mama says I look like a Thai schoolboy now.

The Time I Fell Sick

I recently fell ill. It wasn't fun at all cos at first, I had the runny nose and the cough for weeks. Abah and Mama had taken me to the pedi and I had been good, taking all the medicine and all. But I didn't completely recover from them. And then, last Friday a nasty fever started. I was so hot I made Jessica Alba look ... not hot. Mama said my temperature hovered around 39 deg. At around 4am Saturday morning, it was actually nearer 40 deg and that's when the folks decided to bundle me up to NUH's Children's Emergency.

The doc there said I probably had chest infection or something, I can't remember. What I do remember is that the place has got to be one of the most boring waiting areas I have ever been to! One miserable toy nailed down to a table. Oh well. So I settled on Abah's lap while he read Men's Health magazine. Thank God I was feeling a lot better after a couple of hours and cooled down. And while I was feeling woozy, Abah and Mama slapped one of them silly-looking plasters on my forehead to keep my temp down.

It's been several days since NUH now, but I guess I'm at the tail-end of this fever saga cos I broke out in these spotty red ... spots, yesterday. They're not itchy or anything and I know I look funny, but I feel fine, sleepin' ok and in a fine mood to make a mess anytime. Actually, I'm just lookin' forward to going for a nice walk this weekend with my parents to maybe ... Bedok Jetty @ East Coast. Yah, Bedok Jetty. Later.
